La presidente dell'Associazione Culturale Italo Tedesca che ha organizzato l'evento, Chiara Cozzani, ha dato inizio alla presentazione parlando dell'autore, il cui vero nome è Johannes Burkhardt, e dei motivi che nel 1950 lo hanno costretto a pubblicare questo libro sotto lo pseudonimo di Ossip Kalenter.
L'opera offre uno spaccato di vita di un borgo marinaro solo all'apparenza frutto della fantasia dello scrittore. In realtà, la descrizione dettagliata dei luoghi e alcune vicende che vedono coinvolti i suoi abitanti lo rendono ben riconoscibile da parte dei residenti o da chi lo frequenta regolarmente.
The president of the Italian-German Cultural Association that organised the event, Chiara Cozzani, opened the presentation by talking about the author whose real name was Johannes Burkhardt, and explained the reasons that forced him to publish his book under the pseudonym Ossip Kalenter in 1950.
His work offers a glimpse into life in a seaside village that only apparently looks like a figment of the writer's imagination. In fact, detailed descriptions of places and some events involving the inhabitants make the village easily recognisable by local citizens or by those who frequent it regularly.
